The awards recognise the teams behind New Zealand’s leading commercial projects, celebrating quality, collaboration and delivery excellence across the built environment.
For Cachet, this recognition reflects the scale, care and teamwork behind Spark’s new Auckland workplace.
A New Zealand workplace built for connection
After a decade at Spark City, Spark New Zealand needed a new headquarters to bring 1,600 people together under one roof. Across 14,000 sqm and six levels, the workplace was designed to support stronger collaboration, cultural cohesion and a clearer sense of connection across the business.
Guided by Spark’s Hello Tomorrow brand platform and Te Korowai Tupu, Spark’s Māori Strategy, the workplace embeds brand, culture and future ways of working into the everyday experience of the space.
Workplace design shaped by identity
Each floor reflects the three baskets of knowledge, with cultural narrative influencing colour, pattern, wayfinding, glazing, acoustic panelling and room names. The Tāniko motif became a key design element, symbolising ancestral knowledge and the way perspectives, priorities, ideas and stories are woven together. Warm timber tones, earthy accents and durable finishes create a welcoming workplace with a strong sense of place.
Spark’s workplace was designed to support 6 Star Green Star and WELL Platinum-rated building standards. Across the floors, integrated technology supports simple connection and collaboration. Occupancy sensors help improve energy efficiency by activating lighting only where areas are in use. The interconnecting staircase links teams across levels and supports movement, visibility and connection throughout the workplace.
