Every company has an origin story, and for Aussie Broadband, it starts in Gippsland. Their new Traralgon flagship office honours their roots and brings their people together in one central location, giving them a workplace that reflects just how far the brand has come.
Delivered under Cachet’s ongoing national MSA agreement, the project began with a thorough workplace strategy alongside our sister company, Athena Blue. This process shaped everything from neurodiversity-informed planning and acoustic performance to lighting, collaboration typologies and technology integration. Design decisions were grounded in real insight, not assumptions. The non-negotiables were robust acoustics, generator backup, integrated IT infrastructure, serious security credentials, and a genuine, people-first offering for everyone using the space every day.
The full-tenancy commercial fitout, including demolition, was delivered on an accelerated programme and within a defined budget, without compromising quality or ambition.
From the moment you arrive, this is unmistakably an Aussie Broadband space. Their iconic green winds through the entire floorplate as a bold, flowing floor squiggle – connecting zones, guiding circulation, and giving the space an energy that’s hard to name but impossible to miss. Coordinating the change in floor finish and the precision of the on-site set-out was one of the project’s most complex technical achievements. Most visitors will simply feel it working.
The floorplate supports the full spectrum of how people work. Focused individual work points anchor the central open workspace, while Create and Gather zones sit at the perimeter to capture natural light and views. Meeting rooms are equipped with integrated teleconferencing and plug-and-play technology, purpose-built for seamless hybrid working.
Inclusive design runs through every decision. A dedicated Prayer and Parents Room ensures the space reflects the full diversity of their workforce. The Team Hub and Town Hall provide settings for communal dining, milestone celebrations and whole-of-team gatherings, complemented by informal drop-by zones that make everyday interaction feel effortless. These spaces communicate a simple idea: every person here is considered.
Tactile finishes, layered colour, generous planting and a thoughtful reuse of furniture from a previous fitout bring warmth and character throughout. The palette is energetic but grounded – a space that feels alive without being exhausting.
The outcome is tangible. People are proud to be in this office, showing up in their uniforms, presenting the brand with pride to clients and visitors alike. For the wider Gippsland community, the office anchors local opportunity, supports new jobs, and stands as a marker of Aussie Broadband’s continued growth and investment in regional Victoria.
For Aussie Broadband, Traralgon is a workspace that reflects their culture, honours their roots, and sets the benchmark for how they want to show up as an employer. For Cachet, it’s further proof that a strong MSA partnership, a rigorous interior design process, and a deeply collaborative approach consistently deliver outcomes that go well beyond the brief. The relationship continues through Cachet Care – our ongoing maintenance and support programme that ensures the space performs at its best long after handover.
A workplace built to bring their people home. And keep them coming back.
