FTI Consulting’s Brisbane office marks the latest chapter in a long-standing partnership. With multiple workplace transformations delivered together across Australia, Cachet brought an understanding of their culture and national workplace standards to the brief.
The opportunity lay in unlocking the potential of an existing floorplate at 345 Queen Street, shifting a condensed and fragmented layout into something unified and purposeful. FTI Consulting wanted a workplace that would unite the entire floor into one cohesive environment while improving acoustic performance, supporting a broader range of work settings and embedding sustainability into every decision.
The arrival experience sets the tone for the entire office. As visitors step from the lift, they are immediately met with views to the Story Bridge, creating a strong and quintessentially Brisbane sense of place. Warm timber panelling, natural stone-look finishes and layered textures establish a professional yet welcoming atmosphere.
The boardroom is a standout feature of the fit-out. Designed for confidential client meetings and large-scale presentations, it is defined by curved glass and rich materiality, introducing a sense of refinement and transparency. Operable walls allow the room to open directly into the adjoining breakout space and kitchen, transforming into a flexible venue for training sessions and larger events.
The workplace now supports a wide variety of ways of working. In addition to open work points and meeting rooms, the floor includes quiet rooms, a wellness room, lockers, collaborative spaces and two kitchens to support activity-based working. Every space has been designed to feel connected, purposeful and easy to navigate.
While FTI Consulting offices share a consistent character nationally, the Brisbane workplace was designed to have an identity of its own. The material palette takes cues from Queensland’s landscape and flora, combining terracotta, deep blue and soft cloud-white tones with greenery, brass detailing, timber and stone-look finishes. Textured acoustic panelling in varying profiles runs throughout the space, strengthening both the visual language and the acoustic performance required by the brief.
Existing elements of the fit-out were retained and thoughtfully integrated wherever possible, reducing waste while allowing the new workplace to feel seamless, elevated and entirely purpose-built. While sustainability remained a key driver throughout, the transformation is comprehensive. Base-build carpet was retained, and existing elements were repurposed wherever possible, but all front-of-house areas, wall panelling, joinery and most furniture were replaced to deliver a workplace that feels entirely renewed.
The result is a workplace that feels cohesive, flexible and unmistakably FTI Consulting, with a character that is unmistakably Brisbane.
