ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a dynamic, design-led business reshaping workplace and commercial environments across Australia and New Zealand.

As Financial Accountant at Cachet Group, you will play a key role in supporting the financial health and performance of the group. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, Managing Director, General Managers, and Project Teams, you’ll deliver accurate day-to-day finance operations, oversee month-end processes, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

This role is critical in ensuring strong financial controls, reliable reporting, and proactive cash flow oversight across multiple projects. • Supervise and support offshore AP and AR team members, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Review supplier invoices, manage payment runs, monitor aging reports, and respond to supplier queries.
  • Partner with Project Managers and the Delivery team to issue accurate progress claims and client invoices aligned within agreed contract terms.
  • Proactively manage accounts receivable, including follow-ups, forecasting, and escalation where required.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and monitor forecast accuracy, identifying potential risks early.
  • Prepare monthly WIP analysis and group flash reports.
  • Complete month-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, suppliers, and third-party partners.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting across the group.

About You

You’re a pragmatic, detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced project environment. You bring a calm, organised, and analytical approach, with the confidence to manage priorities, communicate clearly, and support both operational and strategic finance outcomes.

  • 5+ years of proven experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role

  • Experience within a project-based business environment is desirable but not essential
  • Strong understanding of AP, AR, cash flow forecasting, and month-end processes.
  • Excellent business literacy and numeracy, with a focus on accurate and timely reporting.
  • Confident and clear communicator with strong relationship-building skills across all levels of the business.
