ABOUT THE ROLE

As Company Accountant at Cachet Group, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial integrity and compliance of the group. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll lead month-end reporting, balance sheet integrity, tax and statutory compliance, and audit preparation across both Cachet Group and our sister company, Athena Blue Global.

This role is pivotal in supporting Directors, General Managers, and Project Teams with accurate financial insights, robust controls, and proactive cash flow management. You’ll also oversee and mentor offshore finance and payroll team members, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across group finance operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and oversee month-end close processes, ensuring all reporting is accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
  • Prepare and review month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, amortisation, and provisions.
  • Perform P&L reviews and variance analysis, providing clear insights into financial performance.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations across all accounts, including intercompany balances.
  • Prepare monthly WIP analysis and group flash reports.
  • Maintain an accurate and well-structured chart of accounts across the group.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations.
  • Provide guidance and oversight of payroll processing completed by the offshore HR & Payroll Officer, including pre- and post-payroll checks.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and monitor accuracy, escalating potential risks early.
  • Manage tax and statutory compliance, including BAS, GST, PAYG, payroll tax, and FBT obligations.
  • Lead year-end close activities and prepare audit documentation, liaising with external auditors as required.
  • Work collaboratively with Directors, GMs, Project Managers, and external stakeholders to support smooth finance operations.
  • Supervise and support offshore accountant, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

About You

You’re a pragmatic and detail-driven accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, project-based environment. You bring a calm, organised, and analytical approach, with the confidence to manage complex financial processes while partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

  • 5+ years of proven experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role
  • CPA or CA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience within a project-based business environment is desirable but not essential
  • Strong expertise across month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, tax compliance, and audit preparation.
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes, statutory obligations, and financial controls.
  • High level of business literacy and numeracy, with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills across all levels.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities independently.
  • Experience leading or supporting offshore finance and payroll team members.
  • High integrity and discretion, with the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
